ROCKCOCOKARMA SANCTUM HOTEL SOHO / LONDON

01 / THE EVENT

A decadent collision of Rococo fantasy and rock ’n’ roll.

The premise was simple: imagine the Court of Versailles corrupted by amplifiers, glamour, sweat and rock ’n’ roll decadence.

Across the hotel, Rococo references met latex, leather, ripped lace, wigs and punk attitude, turning the venue into a one-night setting for live music, performance, excess and spectacle.

GLAMSKANK

FASHION DEBUT
FASHION / GLAMSKANK

“Forgive me father” is an apology that does not belong to us.

The collection explored protection, restriction and physical burden through hostile textile development. Women’s safety advice often mirrors the way animals instinctively protect themselves from predators.

Those responses were translated into fashion through natural and man-made forms of protection. The garments reflected the expectation that women must continuously adapt their behaviour in order to stay safe.

PERFORMANCE WORK

Lungful

PERFORMANCE NOTE

“Lungful” explores the corset’s dual role as restriction and support. Through a breath-driven choreography, corset cinching is reimagined as both ritual and duet.

This work responds to the corset’s fraught history in relation to femininity, sexuality and fashion, and its position at the intersection of repression and liberation.

The piece is an act of trust, in which both performers are both cinching and being cinched; at once dominant and submissive.

DINNER / CONTORTION / CANDLELIGHT
DINNER / LIVING CANDELABRA

Contortionists became living candelabra within the dinner.

During the dinner, contortionists moved through the room as living candle holders, turning the tables and surrounding space into part of the performance. Japanese cuisine, prepared by a Michelin-starred chef, was served alongside the candlelit interventions.

Cocktails, dining and spectacle occupied the same room, with the performers repeatedly interrupting the distinction between service, decoration and live action. The result was theatrical, excessive and deliberately close to the guests.
